Psalm 130:3
“If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?”
Thank God for grace! The grace that comes from Jesus because of His death on the cross takes away the price that we would have to pay for our sins. The debt we owe is far too high, and we cannot pay it. To commit one sin is to be guilty for breaking the entire law, but we are free in Christ. We are not free to continue in our sin, of course, but we are made free from the bondage of sin. Imagine if God punished us according to our sins- no one would be able to stand! But the Psalm 130 goes onto say that God forgives. His mercy is new with the morning, and the morning is His grace.
