What Are You Thankful for Today?
“It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night,”
Psalms 92:1-2 NKJV
I am regularly working on the discipline of gratitude.
Yep, I said discipline.
Because I am increasingly convinced that gratitude is a discipline. It doesn’t come naturally to us. Discontentment is our default.
But gratitude has a spectacular reward – it makes us happy in Christ.
So today I want to challenge you to write down (or type out or simply think about) 5 things that you’re grateful to God for.
Little or big, every good and perfect gift in your life is from the hand of God (James 1:17). So pause, recognize, and give thanks.
And no matter what circumstances you’re facing, see your joy increase.
To get you started, here are 5 things I’m grateful for today:
1. Homemade pastrami.
2. A good book full of beautiful truth-telling.
3. Clean water.
4. Kind friends.
5. God’s tangible faithfulness in my life.
What are you thankful for?
Your sister in Christ,
