“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful”
Note the lowering effect of sin.
The life of Lot can be related to this one verse. Lot was someone that was blessed in wealth and had the opportunity of a great spiritual start. But he did not truly stand on the truths of Christ and when the opportunity came for him to experience what the world had to offer outside of his Christian bubble, he ran to it. The result was him actually sitting on the wall of the scornful. He became comfortable with people that wanted nothing to do with the righteous things of God- reflecting his own weak relationship with God. His result was misery.
Application: pray for the Lord to give you friends chasing hard after Christ, and a renewed state of mind to place Jesus first.
