Psalm 37

This Psalm is filled with so many curses for the wicked.  David is saying that although they are flourishing in their evil, they will pass away and come to nothing.  The works of people that live for themselves in their sin, they will not come to anything.  It doesn’t matter how far it looks like they get, they will still pass away.  David describes them as “vanishing like smoke” (vs.20).  How do we look at smoke?  It makes us cough.  It burns our eyes.  It suffocates us.  Do we want our works, our lives to be like smoke?  May our works be like incense.  May our actions be sweet smelling aromas that rise before our Lord.
