Acts 1:8

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you”

Power. Who hasn’t dreamt of being a superhero- or a super villain with immense power? We in our character relate power with the ability to do whatever we want. If we did have powers they would suit our individual needs or desires. But we don’t have powers, not which extend past our imagination at least. We can’t control the weather, fly, control the elements, or defy natural laws. If you look at humanity with clear, humble eyes you will see our limits are very real. But. We were created by a limitless God. The power given by the Holy Spirit to those that are in Christ has no limit or boundary. But the concept that we must grasp is the power is only given when it will only glorify the living God. Moses did amazing things- insanely, amazing things! But the Lord God was always glorified. We so often get lost in seeing the Bible as a book of the past, with stories of the past. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” Hebrews 13:8 So the miracles in the Old Testament, the miracles that are in the New Testament, and the book of Acts can be repeated. God has the power to do whatever He wills. He has the power to do it through whoever He wills.

Application: Wake up with the prayer, “Jesus today may I go where You send me to do whatever You have me do, speak to whoever You have me speak to, and say whatever You have me say”. Do the task in front of you with the God of the universe beside you, and the Holy Spirit inside of you.
