1 Timothy 6:10
“For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil for which some have strayed from the faith in greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
Interpretation: If you look around at our world today you can see how true this verse is. Think of all the rich movie stars that can’t stay out of rehab, or stay in a relationship. Our culture puts such a high value on how much money you make or have. Nothing is wrong with being wealthy, but valuing anything more than our relationship with Christ pushes us away from Him. Focus on Jesus and what He wants for your life, and everything else will fall into place.
